Using modernism style and technology to recreate the traditional lifestyle.

When I began to explore product design area, I researched ‘From Ming chair to Hans Wegner’ in product design. According to this research project. I realize there is great potential about Chinese style. I would like to bring Chinese style into our daily life for young generation. The two series of enamel light have different targets. First collection is combine the modern technology and traditional materials; the other is exploring new possibilities of traditional skills and materials.

After those two design project, I decided to change my major to ‘Contemporary Arts China’ and then I tried to focus on lifestyle. In old time, Buddhist burns incense in daily life. I got inspiration from incense to worship about Traditional Chinese Buddhist ritual. However, this incense culture is waning and ignores the spiritual meaning behind this life style. So I would like to offer a new type of rituals for the young generation.

I tried to bring a revolution about Chinese lifestyle to make it more suitable for young generation.

用现代文化与科技去重塑日常的生活方式。

当我刚开始探索工业设计邻域时我调研了明代椅和汉斯瓦格纳设计的椅子，基于这个我发现了中式风格中的巨大潜力，我想将这种风格带入到年轻人的生活中。在这之后我设计了两个系列的搪瓷灯具，一个是传统材料和现代科技相结合另外一个是寻找传统材料新的可能性。

在这两个系列之后我改变我的专业方向为“中国当代艺术”，并将关注点从材料本身放在了人们的生活方式上。在作品《一柱香》里我重塑了传统的生活方式。灵感来自于汉传佛教的传统仪式上香。但是今天的人们逐渐的开始功利化而且因为科技和经济的发展像我一样的年轻人根本就不在乎传统仪式。我的作品《一柱香》是给年轻人创作一种全新的仪式感。

从传统出发，创造当今和未来的中式生活方式！
